The NSW South Coast is regarded as one of Australia’s best wedding destinations – and for good reason. Sprinkled throughout each town is a handsome selection of stylish wedding venues, on-trend accommodation and five star eateries. The beaches here are some of the best in the world and if you’re worried about finding good wedding vendors outside Sydney, don’t be. There are plenty of incredibly creative minds who call this coast home.

The Woods Farm

We often describe this venue as an adult’s playground. It’s got activities galore including a sports pitch, a games arena, a mini zoo, an outdoor pool, fire pits, bikes, a community garden and pizza oven, plus accommodation for 130 guests. It also has a purpose-built wedding barn and a stunning naked chapel making it one of the most well-equipped south coast wedding venues on the market.

The Cove Jervis Bay

Prepare to shed some happy tears – we’ve found a venue where no one has to stay sober. With 13 self-contained cabins, eight luxury tents, and a seven-bedroom house, this beach-front resort can sleep up to 126 guests. For pre or post-wedding celebrations there’s an outdoor area with pizza ovens, lawn games, and kayaks, plus a day spa for those needing a last-minute facial.

Figbird Cottage

This marquee wedding venue prides itself on its stunning, flower-filled gardens and flexibility. There are multiple ceremony locations available as well as accommodation for eight guests. As part of their package, couples also receive lawn games, chairs, a fire pit and romantic lighting options. What’s not to love?

Bewong River Retreat

Sitting pretty on 160 acres, this inspiring south coast wedding venue is the full package. Offering luxurious spa bungalows for 26 guests (with additional glamping available) as well as optional in-house styling, florals, catering and more, it’s a fuss free option for brides and grooms. It’s only 15 minutes from the beach and they offer discounts for winter weddings and smaller weddings under 50 guests.

Audley Dance Hall

Located within the Royal National Park, this refurbished, heritage-listed dance hall feels a million miles away. It overlooks the Hacking River and can seat up to 200 guests. Better yet, there are plenty of accommodation options all within 15 minutes.

Seacliff House Gerringong

When we first stumbled upon this five-acre, south coast wedding venue, it was like meeting the man of our dreams – good-looking, helpful, full of personality and most importantly, available. Fast forward to now and every bride is looking to have a piece of the pie. Our advice? Arrange a viewing here stat.

Paperbark Camp

One of Australia’s first glamping destinations, Paperbark Camp is a unique south coast wedding venue with a focus on creating tranquil, tree-filled experiences. There is on-site accommodation for 40 guests and a weather-proof dining room renowned for its fresh, locally-inspired menus.

Willow Farm, Berry

There’s two reasons couples come to the artisanal town of Berry. One, to eat hot cinnamon donuts from The Famous Berry Donut Van and two, to get married at Willow Farm – a magical DIY wedding venue set on 160 acres. The magazine-worthy farmhouse sleeps 10 and when it comes time for photos, the light here is divine!

A place where modern cuisine and rustic charm meet, The Woolshed is a top pick for couples who love a little history but don’t want to compromise on quality. Renovated in 2016, the woolshed’s original barn doors, fire places and high ceilings still remain but the addition of modern amenities make it a comfortable and highly sought after wedding space.

When you book a wedding at Terara Riverside Gardens you gain three days access to a private, five acre property located on the banks of the Shoalhaven River plus a white marquee (seats 120), accommodation for eight guests and a greenhouse (currently under construction – watch this space). No surprises here that 2021 is booking fast.

Worrowing Jervis Bay is a 250-acre property that reads like a south coast tourism ad for wedding venues: just minutes from the azure blue waters of Jervis Bay, here you’ll find plenty of native wildlife as well as things like a purpose-built reception shed, 12 self-contained cottages (sleeps 41 guests) and countless ceremony locations.

A refined space known for its exquisite food and wine, The Grange is an ideal south coast wedding venue for couples wanting something a little fancy but with plenty of flexibility. With three versatile spaces that can cater for up to 450 guests and multiple packages, it’s a great venue year-round.

Bannisters by the Sea

Renowned for its award-winning restaurant by Rick Stein, this place is paradise for food aficionados. The hotel itself is a luxurious space overlooking the ocean with all the bells and whistles you’d expect including a day spa, a pool bar and a relaxed rooftop bar and grill.

With a private bar and balcony and uninterrupted ocean views, it’s hard to look past Headlands Austinmer Beach. There’s on-site accommodation and plenty of beautiful photo locations nearby. Plus if you book in winter they’ll knock $500 off the venue hire fee.
