With its picturesque homestead, sprawling gardens and serene vineyard views, it’s easy to be enchanted by Mayfield Vineyard - a historic property nestled in the wine growing region of Orange, NSW. For Emma and James, the attraction was instant, especially with the homestead’s backyard where they chose to exchange vows. "It was just magical", said Emma.
With a romantic palette of peaches, pinks and whites and a laid-back vibe, their spring garden party wedding let the natural beauty of the venue shine. Captured by Brenton Cox Photography you can see the entire celebration below.
How did you and James meet? We met at James’s tyre shop when I brought my car in for a pink slip.
The venue: We fell in love with its old charm and landscape. Our favourite spot was the homestead backyard where we had our ceremony. It was just magical.
The vibe: Spring/summer garden party vibes. Our colour scheme was peaches, pinks and white and the decor was fairly minimal as the aim was to let the property shine.
Best wedding planning resources? Our amazing on the day coordinator gave us so many tips and being from the town she knew all the best people to connect with. Wedshed was also very helpful, I used the spreadsheet religiously!
Expectations vs. reality: I wish I had put more thought into the first dance and our speech but the rest of the day was absolutely incredible and I wouldn’t change a thing. The dance floor was way more fun that I could have imagined.
Best thing you did? Have a coordinator who knew the region and property.
Hit (or near) miss: The food we had ordered for the morning of the wedding that never arrived!
If we had our time again… (anything you'd change in retrospect?) Maybe do some more florals if we had the budget.
