Tara and Ollie's love wasn't a slow burn. From the moment they met at a dance eisteddfod in a small country town, they were, in Tara's words, "inseparable from that day on!". Their wedding day at Mayfield Vineyard - a picturesque property in the wine-growing region of Orange, NSW - gave everyone a similar, sudden jolt to the heart. Delicate lace detailing, gentle draping and a timeless colour palette delivered serious, eye-pleasing impact while a team of incredible vendors (cue: Eat Your Greens and The White Place Events) ensured guests had no excuse but to have a good time.
Beautifully captured by Shannan Griffiths Photography, this wedding is going straight to the Pinterest board.
How did you and Ollie meet? We met in a small country town at a dance eisteddfod (Oliver was not dancing lol), to which we then had dinner with mutual friends and became inseparable from that day on!
The venue: Mayfield Vineyard - the gorgeous gardens and french inspired grounds.
The vibe: We wanted love to be the defining feeling of the day. For every guest to truly sense the genuine emotion and overwhelming love surrounding us. To reflect this, we chose soft tones of green, maroon, pink and cream to enhance the overall atmosphere. Delicate lace details and gentle draping added to the romantic, heartfelt feel we envisioned, while an editorial styling approach brought a refined, intentional edge — blending timeless emotion with a modern, curated aesthetic.
Best wedding planning resources? Wedshed website and TikTok (surprisingly very helpful lol).
Expectations vs. reality? Honestly, I loved wedding planning far more than I ever expected to. It was such a fun experience getting to plan and style everything to match us and our vibe perfectly.
Of course, there were moments where balancing full-time work with planning felt overwhelming, and the to do list seemed never ending. But seeing everything come together so seamlessly on the day, exactly as we had imagined, made every late night and stressful moment completely worth it. The joy of watching it all unfold far outweighed any of the pressure along the way.
Hit (or near) miss: Our ceremony was very (VERY) close to being windy and completely rained out. Luckily, just as guests began arriving, the wind eased and the skies started to clear. Then, right as the doors of the homestead opened and I was about to walk down the aisle, the sun came out - it couldn’t have been more perfect timing.
Best thing you did? The best thing we did was intentionally slow down and enjoy the process together. Rather than letting planning become just another task on the to-do list, we turned it into something fun - little planning dates going through ideas, and moments where we paused to remember why we were doing it all.
Taking the time to really embrace our love throughout the journey made the entire experience feel meaningful, not just the wedding day itself. It kept us grounded, connected, and genuinely excited every step of the way.
Wedding splurge?
Flowers and photography.
Wedding save?
Stationery (we did most ourselves).
First look?
No! We wanted the first time we saw each other to be at the ceremony.
Best thing you ate or drank on the day?
All of our food was so amazing, but as a sweet tooth gal, I have to say the cake!
Aisle song?
"Iris", by Grace Davies and violin version of "Can't Help Falling in Love", by Elvis Presley.
"Man I Need", by Olivia Dean (is there really another choice right now?).
Ceremony or reception (which won)?
Ceremony.
On-budget or over-budget?
Very, very over....
Honeymoon destination?
Canada!
