Headlands Austinmer Beach is a stunning waterfront wedding venue nestled on New South Wales’ sunkissed south coast just an hour from Sydney. It boasts stylish, chic décor, exquisite floor-to-ceiling windows, an abundance of nearby ceremony locations, and that quintessential coastal charm. Couples flock to Headlands for the panoramic sea views, sun-drenched balconies, and luxe onsite accommodation.

Our architecturally-designed event space boasts a private bar and balcony, state-of-the-art facilities and panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean. Surrounded by beautiful beaches and parkland, ceremony locations are in abundance, many being easy walking distance to our reception space. We can accommodate weddings and events as intimate as 50 and as large as 260 guests.

Headlands Austinmer Beach began as a guesthouse built in 1926 which was constructed by Joe Goss for Syms and Company. It consisted of thirty double bedrooms, landscaped grounds, twelve garages and staff rooms.

In 1954, sheep breeder Mr H. M. Rain bought the property and converted the guest house into a modern hotel with a new accommodation section and bars.

Brian Marriott and John Moore took over the hotel in 1972 and tore down part of the old building to make way for a new steak and wine bistro. After almost 40 years the hotel shut down due to safety concerns over the dilapidated state of the building in 2011.
