About This Venue

Ever fantasised about taking over an entire vineyard with all your friends and family? Just us?

If you’re like-minded, firstly, we see you and salute you, friend. Goals indeed. And secondly, we can help you make this dream a reality for your big day.

There are a lot of reasons to love Mayfield Vineyard – particularly if you’re partial to a good glass of wine, blow-your-mind scenery and fresh country air.

Located just 10kms from Orange (a rural city known as the ‘food bowl’ of NSW), the property features a 100-year-old homestead and cellar door, accommodation for 28 guests across six dwellings, a lake, rolling hills and a gaggle of roaming geese. Considered one of the most outstanding estates in eastern Australia, you’ll find an incredibly diverse landscape here – acres of vineyard, a 3.6 hectare arboretum of exotic trees and birdlife along with beautiful Australiana gums, lakes and it’s own “village” of quaint cottages.

There are also multiple sites for your ceremony and three event spaces to choose from for your reception including The School House, The Vineyard and The Garden.

And that’s just covering the basics. Other reasons to consider Mayfield for your wedding include:

  • Exclusive three-day use of the entire property (yep, you’re basically hiring your own vineyard)
  • An exclusive Mayfield Wine Tasting experience for all guests accommodated at Mayfield on arrival
  • Ability to BYO much of your alcohol and catering
  • Generous discounts on Mayfield wines
  • Bathrooms and amenities
  • Wet weather options
  • Commercial catering kitchen and cool room situated on the property
  • A dedicated wedding manager
  • A shared easy-management digital platform with Mayfield Vineyard to stay up to date with your wedding and have complete transparency over payment statuses and your team
  • Lighting for surrounding outside areas
  • Complementary use of grounds for a ‘recovery brunch’ the day after (BYO picnic blankets!)

+ much more.

Our goal is to ensure our couples have a good time and get wed in a way that feels deeply personal to them, and we’ll help you find special ways to do this. We’d love to invite you to come join us, wander the property with a glass of something delicious in hand and have a no-pressure yarn about your love story. We’re all ears and country hospitality.

Owner / Manager

The history of Mayfield dates back to 1813 when the explorer William Charles Wentworth was the first to cross the Blue Mountains. As a thank you, he received ‘Mayfield’ as a Crown Grant from the Governor of NSW. Not bad, hey?

Since then, the property has seen a number of different owners (including The Crawford Family – well-known English biscuit-making barons) and most recently, it has found its way into the hands of the Eastham Family – Orange locals who also acquired the adjoining vineyard (previously a part of Mayfield but sold off in later years). So “the band”(of grapes) is back together.

Mayfield Vineyard weddings are managed exclusively by the Wedshed team – we bring a deep understanding of all the small but very important things you’ll need to make your wedding planning experience as personal and relaxed as possible, along with the best part of a decade in venue management.

The property’s General Manager and Director Charles Simons is a qualified viticulturist who has extensive experience across all areas within the wine industry, from vineyard management, winemaking, business development and sales. In other words, you’re in good hands here.
