If a relaxed, country wedding is your vibe, take note of Rachel and Jacob’s celebration held at Willow Farm. A 160 acre property with the perfect party shed, this venue also boasts a large dam, luxurious accommodation and views of the rolling countryside that NSW’s south coast is renowned for.

Rachel and Jacob brought in food, flowers and a handsome looking cake to create a personalised celebration they will never forget, thanks to their fabulous photographer Samantha Heather.

How did the proposal go down?

Jacob proposed in 2013. We had a picnic at Audley and Jacob had made dessert. When it was time for dessert Jacob told me to close my eyes and he put a box in my hand, when I opened them I was holding a box full of chocolate dipped strawberries that spelt out “Will You Marry Me?” and he was on one knee with the ring.

What advice would you give to other couples leading up to their big day?

Even though it is difficult sometimes, try to have fun and make the most of planning and organising your wedding. Don’t stress too much and don’t worry too much about what other people think.

It can sometimes seem like the end of the world if something goes wrong, but everything manages to come together on the day! And Jacob’s pop gave us this advice when we first got engaged: When everyone else gives you advice, just say “that’s a good idea” to make them happy but do whatever you want.

What does marriage mean to you?

Marriage to me is a lifelong commitment to the other person and unconditional love. Loving them and putting them before yourself, no matter what the circumstances, like we said in our vows, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and health. Marriage is an example of the relationship that we have with God and God is the centre of our relationship.

What was your favourite moment on your wedding day?

It’s really hard to pick one favourite moment, I loved walking down the aisle and seeing Jacob, as you can tell from the photos I got very emotional! Jacob’s favourite moment was much the same, seeing me walk down the aisle. We also both loved being surrounded by our good friends and family and having a fun and relaxed time together.

How did you find your venue and was the process difficult for you?

Through WedShed! I looked all over on the internet and couldn’t find anything that suited us. I finally discovered this awesome website and that was when I found Willow Farm, Berry!
