Who throws a party on a school night? The wedding industry, that’s who.

This week, we gathered a whole swag of our beloved venues, vendors and industry folk to celebrate the fact that yet another year has whizzed by at lightning pace, and to get merry. Very, very merry indeed.

Held at WedShed venue Bangarra Room on Sydney’s Harbour, the eve started with a stunner of a sunset and ended in the wee morning hours with some serious dance moves, thanks to the skills of We Play Records (five ‘last songs’ has got to be a record).

The Heartful Kitchen and The Blonde Butler collaborated to lay out the most decadent Christmas grazing spread, with plenty of smoked, gooey, baked and tossed delicacies. These (and plenty of people’s inhibitions) were all washed down with delicious tipples from James & Co Wines and All Saints Estate.

But the night wouldn’t have come together (or looked as jaw-droppingly amazing) if it weren’t for three very special business ladies we partnered with.

Sharriee from Gather Vintage Hire, Carla from Rutherglen Florist and Georgie from Georgie James Photography packed a (literal) truck-full of goodies and drove six hours up to Sydney from their hometown of Rutherglen to transform the room into a place fit for a party. Their elegant and fun interpretation of ‘Christmas’ jingled our bells – especially the epic balloon installation photo spot. We love these women and their work and can’t quite thank them enough. Special thanks also to Willo Creative for crafting some gorgeous hand-written perspex signs for us.

There was a lot of love in that room and we certainly felt it. We also felt the hangovers the next day – a sign of a celebration done well, we keep telling ourselves. Happy early Chrimbo guys.
