Asha and Matt described their wedding as the best day of their lives, at one of the most beautiful settings possible, Seclusions Blue Mountains. It was a day filled with laughter, love, surprises and amazing food.

Our favourite part? Their pooch was a groomsman. Ultra-cute. Check out more of their wedding below, captured by WedShed photographers, Kings & Thieves.

In a nutshell, how would you describe your wedding day?

The best day of our life! It was the perfect balance of ‘chilled chic’ in the most beautiful setting surrounded by family and friends. It was a day filled with laughter, love and surprises and the most amazing food! If we could do it all over again, we would do it in a heartbeat.

What did you expect was going to be your favourite part in the lead-up? What did it end up being?

I thought my favourite part was going to be seeing my husband standing there all handsome at the end of the aisle waiting for me. I wasn’t wrong! We also had our gorgeous American Staffy, Stoker, as one of the groomsmen. Seeing my two favourite boys together, ready and waiting for me, was the absolute best moment of the day! Something I will remember for the rest of my life.

Did you write your own vows? If so, what made you decide to do that?

Yes, we did! I’ve always been hooked on personal vows that truly come from the heart and the soul. We both wrote the most beautiful vows that summed us up perfectly.

What was it about your wedding venue that made you choose it?

It’s just perfect in every way. The natural beauty of the surroundings is what got us there in the first place but the personal service you receive from the owners, Russel and Malynda, is what makes the day truly magical. It’s the perfect balance of ‘rustic luxe’ and I would recommend it to anyone getting married in the near future!

Now that you’re married, what’s your best piece of wedding planning advice you can share?

I was all about being a hands-on bride and doing most of the work myself. I wanted to plan, style and decorate EVERYTHING! I found out very early on that working a full-time job and doing all of this was going to be very hard. We made the decision to hire a wedding planner, Jess from The Golden Dandelion, and it was the best decision we made! She handled all the fine details and gave us a wedding that we could NEVER have designed ourselves! It also allowed us to sit back and relax on our special day because Jess had everything under control and executed to perfection.

If you had your time again, is there anything you’d do differently?

The only thing I would do is hire a wedding planner from the beginning!

Finish these sentences: My partner is…

My missing puzzle piece that makes me complete.

The best thing we did at our wedding was…

Take the time to sit back, eat and watch all of family and friends having the best time ever!

We splurged on…

Food!

We saved on…

Alcohol.
