In recent years, weddings have shifted. The focus has moved away from obligatory invites and expectations and towards intention, experience and how it actually feels to get married. Many couples start planning with a grand vision, only to realise that the logistics, pressure and cost don’t always align with what they truly want. And that’s where The Elope Edit comes in.
Created for couples who want the luxury of a beautifully curated wedding without the overwhelm, The Elope Edit is a collective of established wedding professionals working as one seamless team. They design and deliver intimate celebrations and micro weddings that feel elevated, thoughtful and entirely personal. And on a personality scale, they are the gold standard. Funny, kind, and full of heart they bring a level of passion and panache to their work that is almost impossible to match.
To provide a small glimpse into the type of small celebrations they create, they put together this styled shoot at Mona Farm - a sophisticated, rural wedding venue that is out-of-this-world in every way (think award winning gardens, beautifully restored buildings and a diverse collection of contemporary art and sculpture).
With Jaime (a celebrant and wedding planning whiz) in charge of coordinating the shoot, it was always going to be a detail-oriented and well organised affair. Having planned her own elopement in Byron Bay last year probably helped, too. The rest of the vendor line-up included Sophia Wilde on florals, who can take full credit for providing the only inspiration needed for the next era of weddings and elopements. Whimsical, wild and completely suited to the setting, she is truly a master of her craft.
A Tavola elevated the entire shoot by contributing their styling expertise, adding the most exquisite and thoughtfully considered details that brought the entire vision together. Velvet stools and curved tables from SOCO Event Hire and dreamy, lace-framed stationery from Peach and Paco being some of our faves.
The creative genius behind the lens was the one and only Scott Surplice Photography (you can see some more of his work here) who captured not only the overall vibe of the shoot so perfectly but some hero shots that showcased the stunning work of wedding dress designer Prea James, hair and makeup artist Bridal Glow Co and jewellery designer Kate Fenton of Chroma Jewellery. By Lucy Weddings was also there capturing content in real time to create an authentic visual story of the shoot (that you can check out here).
Last but certainly not least was the delicious masterpiece created by Sweet Custom Cakes - a cake so impressive it became a styling feature in its own right (and looked almost too good to taste).
It's a shoot that perfectly sums up what The Elope Edit is about - creating a magical, intimate experience with everything that matters and nothing that doesn’t.
