From the very start, this wedding had personality in spades - a dreamy fusion of historical charm, coastal elegance, and serious creative flair. For Kelsey and Kenneth, the goal was simple: find a ceremony spot steeped in character, pair it with a modern reception space that didn’t need too much dressing up, and celebrate with people they love.
They landed on Lindesay House in Sydney for their “I do’s” - a stately heritage home with sweeping harbour views - followed by a stylish reception at 12-Micron, where tiled floors and architectural ceilings added to their beach-chic meets Bridgerton-garden-party vibe. Throw in boat transport between venues (fun!), a string quartet playing Taylor Swift, and DIY favours with personal letters and Polaroids for each guest, and you’ve got a wedding that felt every bit as heartfelt as it was fabulous.

How did you and Ken meet? We had a mutual friend who thought we would work out well together! He introduced us one night and the rest was history.
The venue: I love the beach and historical sites - so we wanted to find somewhere that had both! Choosing our ceremony location Lindesay House was easy, and we saw the vision straight away.
Scouting a reception space was a little harder as we wanted a venue that didn’t need too much additional decor, and complimented the area around it. 12-Micron’s tile floors and ceiling details were both modern while still creative. We got very lucky that both our preferred venues were available for the date we had in mind!
The vibe: Think Bridgerton garden party X beach chic.
Best wedding planning resources? We used Wedshed to help us scout locations, otherwise Pinterest and Tik Tok were amazing for inspiration!
Expectations vs. reality: Scouting venues - first few times are fun, once you get to 5+ it gets quite exhausting and time consuming. We loved connecting with vendors that aligned in the creative vision that we could trust. Also didn’t expect there’s a large portion of waiting in between where there’s no planning or contact with vendors, then it really ramps up the month before
Best thing you did? Choosing vendors who we could trust whole heartedly - our florist, videographer and photographer understood the vision and executed it beautifully.
Hit (or near) miss: The night before the wedding as we were about to go to bed, my Maid of Honour had some sort of allergic reaction and her eye started swelling shut! I spent the whole night on the phone to Ken for medical advice and compressing her eye with a cold rag, and us trying to not wake up the other bridesmaids downstairs with the chaos! Luckily she woke up the next morning and it was completely gone!
