La Vigna - a name that literally means "the vineyard" - is an Italian-inspired wedding venue located in the heart of the Hunter Valley. It is the lovechild of owners Micah and Denny, who have spent over a decade shaping it into a stunning and versatile events space that is both elegant and unpretentious.
Recently, we were invited to enjoy an intimate evening at La Vigna (lucky us!) and raise a glass to some new additions on the property - most notably, a stunning bar and al-fresco area that overlooks La Vigna's expansive lawns, sandstone chapel and dam. Like most of the properties key features, the al-fresco area was a labour of love: hand-built by Micah using the finest quality materials.
We had been waiting for the big reveal and took the invitation as an opportunity to put together a styled shoot to showcase La Vigna in all its glory - after operating under the radar for a number of years, we felt it was time for La Vigna to step into the spotlight as one of the Hunter's most desirable destinations to say "I do".
This all-inclusive venue is not just full of heart but fabulous facilities, too. As well as multiple spaces that couples can truly make their own, one of La Vigna’s biggest draw cards is the on-site accommodation. The property comfortably sleeps 38 guests across four houses, each with its own personality and charm. With three pools dotted across the estate, it allows wedding celebrations to seamlessly roll into a weekend-long festival of food, fun, and family (think morning swims, leisurely brunches and a roaming pool party that continues well beyond the formalities).
The styled shoot provided a glimpse into how these spaces can be utilised, with stylist and florist Gemma from Sub Subtle transforming the natural backdrop into an elegant yet playful canvas with soft draping, champagne towers, and plenty of whimsical florals.
As evening fell, the outdoor spaces really came to life. With festoon lighting overhead and candlelight glowing on tables, the styled dinner showcased just how magical this venue can feel once the stars come out. Think rustic warmth with a touch of rural European romance - the kind of setting where guests like to linger long after the main meal.
Beautifully captured by the talented Larissa (Larissa Cluff Creative) and Adam (Adam West Photography) the shoot brought to life everything that excites us about this winery wedding venue - the hand-built chapel (crafted from sandstone blocks dating back to 1917), the striking scenery, accommodation and delicious food and wine. It also showed easy wedding planning here is, with the ability to do everything in one place - from pre-wedding pampering to after-party wind-downs, it’s all possible without anyone needing to leave the property.
For couples looking for a European-style wedding venue where they can design their own day and enjoy a destination wedding without the airfare, La Vigna is all about creating a wedding experience that feels effortless, joyful, and deeply personal.
