The Stables of Somersby is a stunning boutique Wedding Venue situated just north of Sydney in the picturesque Hinterland of the NSW Central Coast. This lovingly repurposed rustic barn is located on a private equestrian property offering the perfect rural retreat for your dream wedding. Surrounded by sprawling lawns, a spectacular dam with boathouse and jetty and framed by magnificent natural bushland,
The Stables is perfectly positioned within an hour of both Sydney and Newcastle and a mere 30 minutes from Terrigal and Wahroonga, making it the ideal rustic wedding destination. The Stables is the perfect canvas, allowing every couple the freedom to create their own personalised wedding celebration that will be treasured forever.
Exclusive use of the barn and surrounding grounds are yours, with numerous options for Ceremony, Reception and Photos – at The Stables you are limited only by your imagination.
• The Barn – including our custom recycled timber trestle tables, beautiful bamboo wedding chairs, built in vintage bar area, two luxurious toilets, catering room, stunning chandeliers and fairy lights.
• The North Lawn & Rustic Pavilion – a magical undercover space with fairy lights and festoons, perfect for after Ceremony with our very own vintage horse float bar ‘Pearl’ included in your Venue hire.
• Rustic fire pit area for chilly evenings and added ambiance.
• The Rustic Log Arbour – our spectacular ‘Wisteria Walk’ Aisle to our majestic Ceremony Tree.
• The South Lawn overlooking our beautiful Lake with rustic Boathouse & Jetty for magical reflections and photos.
The Stables offers complete flexibility for both seated or cocktail style receptions and importantly, the perfect undercover wet weather options for Ceremony, mingling or dining if needed.
We offer the perfect place to pamper and prepare for your special day. Stables couples have exclusive use of our luxury Loft apartment on their wedding day, a spacious and simply stunning retreat located directly above The Barn. The Loft provides a tranquil and relaxed environment for our brides or grooms, their attendants and family to prepare for the Ceremony and a romantic haven for the newlyweds to spend their wedding night.
Our beautiful & character filled, original Farm Cottage is now available to hire for up to 10 guests, offering additional accommodation on the same property as the Venue and perfect for family, bridal party or friends to stay for your wedding weekend at The Stables. The Farm Cottage is beautifully decorated and features 3 spacious Queen bedrooms, 2 beautiful bathrooms, a huge TV/games room with additional accommodation options, a slow combustion fire and billiard table. There is also a gorgeous Tuscan inspired, outdoor courtyard with an ancient grape vine covering the rustic pergola and a bbq and stone pizza oven providing endless opportunities for family and friends to relax and enjoy time together as well as wonderful pre-ceremony photo options.
The Stables is also proud to include the services of our on the day Wedding Coordinator as well as a detailed Run Sheet prepared for your day. Our Coordinator will assist with any last minute details you require on the day and throughout the evening, liaising with your suppliers and making sure everything runs smoothly, ensuring you and your family are free to relax and enjoy every minute of your day. It is also possible to book additional hours or services for those who feel they need more extensive Wedding Planning and Coordination service in the months leading up to the wedding.
We offer a collection of furniture and styling props, which are available for our couples to hire to help create the perfect atmosphere & ambience.

Owner / Manager
Having been lucky enough to live on this lovely property for almost 20 years raising a family and breeding horses, Louise and her family have spent years creating this beautiful rustic barn together. Originally built to house farm machinery, feed and horse stables, it has now been lovingly repurposed into a beautiful venue space full of rustic appeal with personal attention to every detail.
With a background in interiors and styling and a long history of collecting beautiful things (often rusty!), The Stables creates a warm, relaxed and stunning family atmosphere that truly reflects the love and passion that has gone in to creating it.
Since our opening in January 2018, we’ve given our couples the ability to customise their wedding and realise their personal vision for their day, from their decor and florals right through to their catering and entertainment.
We’ll make sure the special day you’ve envisioned becomes a reality.
