About

At Capricorn Press, we believe your wedding day is a story worth telling—and the details should feel as intentional as the vows themselves. We specialize in bespoke stationery and event signage for couples who are drawn to old-world charm, moody botanical motifs, and the timeless elegance of vintage typography.

We are not a mass-production house. We are a boutique, artist-led studio where design meets sentiment. We don't just provide paper goods; we provide the atmosphere for your celebration.

What We Create for You

We provide a cohesive visual language for your wedding, ensuring that every touchpoint—from the first "Save the Date" that lands in your guests' mailboxes to the welcome sign that greets them at the venue—feels part of the same storied collection.

  • Curated Stationery Suites: Save the Dates, invitations, and RSVP cards designed with high-art sensibilities, utilising our signature antique botanical illustrations and celestial silhouettes.
  • Atmospheric Event Signage: Welcome signs, seating charts, menus, and table numbers that double as decor. We create pieces that don't just instruct, but enhance the beauty of your table-scapes and venue space.
  • Heirloom Keepsakes: We design with the belief that these pieces should be kept and cherished long after the final dance. Our paper goods are crafted to serve as beautiful reminders of your special day for years to come.

The Capricorn Press Approach

What sets us apart is our marriage of historical aesthetics and modern sustainability.

  • Conscious Luxury: We operate on a made-on-demand model. By producing exactly what is needed for your specific guest count, we minimize waste while ensuring the richness and quality of every single item. You can rest easy knowing your stationery choices are as kind to the earth as they are beautiful.
  • The "Dark Academia" Aesthetic: If you are seeking a wedding style defined by romance, sophistication, and a touch of the ethereal, you are in the right place. We lean into deep color palettes, intricate vintage elements, and typography that feels pulled from a 19th-century study.
  • Collaborative Design: You are the architect of your day. We work closely with you to ensure our botanical and vintage motifs align perfectly with your unique vision. Whether you are planning an intimate candlelit dinner or a grand garden affair, we tailor our design elements to complement your specific venue and mood.

Chit Chat

  • How far in advance should I book my stationery?
  • For a seamless experience, I recommend booking at least 4–6 months before your wedding date. This ensures we have ample time to curate your designs, refine the details, and perfect the printing. That said, if your date is closer, please reach out—I always try to accommodate last-minute bookings where my schedule allows.
  • Can I customize the designs in your collection?
  • Absolutely. My collections are starting points, not rigid boundaries. As a designer, my priority is ensuring your stationery reflects your specific story. We can tweak color palettes, typography, and layout to ensure the final piece aligns perfectly with the atmosphere of your venue and your personal style.
  • Why is your business model "made-on-demand"?
  • It’s a choice rooted in quality and respect for the planet. By printing your stationery only when you need it, I avoid the waste of mass production. This allows me to focus on finer paper stocks and artisanal finishes that you won't find in mass-market options. It’s "slow design"—unhurried, intentional, and high-quality.
  • Do you work with couples outside of Sydney?
  • Yes! While I am based in Sydney and love our local wedding scene, my design process is fully optimized for remote collaboration. I work with couples across Australia, providing digital proofs and clear communication to ensure your stationery arrives beautiful and on time, no matter where you are hosting your day.

More about the vendor team

Hi, I’m Lucy.

I am a Sydney-based designer, a mother, and the founder of Capricorn Press. I created this studio because I believe that the most memorable weddings are built on a foundation of intentional design—creating a cohesive, beautiful story that ties every element of your day together, from the first invitation to the final reception signage.

I’ve Been in Your Shoes

When I planned my own wedding in 2019, I learned firsthand that the "perfect" day is found in the details. I felt the same pressure you likely feel right now: the desire for everything to feel unique, authentic, and impeccably curated.

That experience shaped the way I work today. I don’t just "take orders"—I approach your wedding as a design project. I understand that stationery isn’t just paper; it is the first impression your guests have of your celebration, and it needs to set the tone for everything that follows.

Why Capricorn Press?

  • A Local, Professional Eye: Based here in Sydney, I bring a local understanding to the design process. Whether we are discussing venue logistics or the perfect paper weight for a seaside versus a garden wedding, I am here to offer experienced, grounded guidance to ensure your vision comes to life.
  • Design Over Templates: You won’t find mass-produced, cookie-cutter designs here. Every collection I release is born from a love of the "Dark Academia" aesthetic—think moody botanical illustrations, intricate celestial motifs, and vintage typography that feels pulled from a storied library. I focus on balance, composition, and historical beauty to create designs that feel intentional.
  • Conscious Luxury: As a mother and a designer, I care deeply about the footprint we leave behind. My business model is intentionally made-on-demand. By creating only what is needed, I ensure that every piece is crafted with care while minimizing waste. It is a slower, more conscious way of working that I think aligns beautifully with the meaningful nature of a wedding.

When I’m Not Designing...

You will usually find me in the garden. Whether I’m tending to my herbs or finding inspiration in the seasonal shifts of the natural world, nature is the heartbeat of my work. It’s where I recharge, and it’s where I find the organic elements and textures that eventually make their way into your invitations and signage.

I am so looking forward to hearing about your vision. Let’s create something timeless, together.
