With a clear vision in mind and a handpicked crew of talented wedding vendors, Sarah and Dylan created their dream Sydney wedding at Three Blue Ducks in Rosebery - one of five locations across Australia where people come to enjoy a unique dining experience. It made it the perfect venue for their "boozy, candlelit dinner party" and being able to have their ceremony and reception in the same space made the whole process, in Sarah's words, "so seamless and easy".

An after-party at a nearby pub was the perfect way to wrap up a memorable and love-filled celebration. Captured by Wedshed fave Gui Jorge (see more of his work here) you can see the entire day below.

How did you and Dylan meet? We met during our first year of uni and knew each other for about two years before starting to date, but always liked each other in the lead up to actually getting together! We have now been together for 11 years.

The venue: Three Blue Ducks Rosebery. The team at Three Blue Ducks were amazing in the lead up and on the day/night. We had our ceremony and reception on-site, and loved the warehouse feel. The food was incredible and was a big reason we chose the venue.

It was the perfect place to have our wedding, and it was just what we wanted - a dinner party and dancing with our friends and family, and Three Blue Ducks made the whole process so seamless and easy for us.

Best wedding planning resources? We are close friends with our florist/stylist Jess from the Golden Dandelion - and love her style - so for us choosing someone who could help guide us with decisions was wonderful.

Chatting to friends about their weddings - this is where we found our amazing photographer Gui. He was the photographer at Dylan’s cousin's wedding - we loved his work and his vibe.

Wedchat by Wedshed - to explore vendors etc. which was great!

Again, back to Three Blue Ducks - we had Jess Harborne as our Event Coordinator who was allocated when we booked the venue - she made making decisions easy! We also had Jess’s cousin Somerset as our celebrant - so again talking/asking people for ideas/vendors worked for us! Somerset set the perfect tone for our relaxed ceremony.

Wedding vibe: We had our wedding during the early evening on the last day of winter and wanted the vibe of a boozy, candlelit dinner party and it was just that. We had a cocktail hour in the outside courtyard area following the ceremony with unlimited margaritas, which flowed into a candlelit dinner, dancing and an afterparty at the Bat & Ball just down the road.

Expectations vs. reality: We knew we wanted a big party with our friends and family - so we went into wedding planning with that in mind. All the vendors who were apart of the day were so amazing and matched our vibe, which just let us enjoy the day and party.

Best thing you did? We got ready together at an Airbnb with our close friends and family. It was such a lovely day - coffee and a walk in the morning, a brekkie at the house, and then we slowly started to get ready with our wonderful hair and makeup artists. We then had some drinks and photos and all loaded into a bus to arrive at Three Blue Ducks together.

We also went to a pub after the wedding with a bunch of friends which was such a nice way to finish off the night.

Hit (or near) miss: The night before our wedding, someone arrived at our Airbnb and said they had booked it. It was fine in the end and we had booked it correctly, however, we thought we might have an additional guest at the wedding house. We were also just about to put on the horror movie Barbarian – which features a double booked Airbnb - when she arrived.

If we had our time again... We were both a bit nervous for the ceremony and it ended up being such a special and fun part of the day. So it's hard to go back in time and tell the previous us to relax a little more - but just lean into the nerves and excitement!

I had a glass of champagne with my sister, mum and dad inside the venue - just the four of us - before we all walked down the aisle - that was such a special and fun moment.
