Tillee Music represents the kind of people we will forever admire (envy) – i.e anyone who can sing or play an instrument (or both). On a more serious note though, they’re an incredibly talented bunch from across Sydney and Melbourne who have a way of weaving a little magic into every wedding they perform at.

Here we chat to Natalie (one half of Tillee Music’s original pioneer duo) about song choice and why they’re every couple’s favourite wedding supplier. Scroll down and you can check out some of their recorded videos too…

Tell us a bit about your business…

Our focus is acoustic music. Each of our artists have their own unique sound and style which we love as it offers our lovebirds a stack of alternative options for them to consider when planning their wedding or event.

What is the main advantage for couples who work with you?

From the moment you book any of our artists we’re on board for the ride. We like to get to know the folks we’re working with as it really makes our involvement on a couples big day feel that much more relaxed for both the couple and all those involved. We aim to make it memorable and personal.

Can you share some of the things that go on behind the scenes?

Where do we start??? There is a heap of communication (AKA EMAILS) that goes on with all of our couples. We also make contact with our venues, celebrants and other suppliers we’ll be interacting with at a wedding to ensure we are complimenting what they do too. It’s not just about us! We do a lot of song research when our folks need a hand and are skyping our couples regularly too. That’s a little of what we do 🙂

Do you think there are any preconceptions about the wedding industry?

Definitely! I think a lot of people assume it’s an easy gig working in the wedding industry. I don’t agree, its damn hard work! A wedding day isn’t a day you get to re-live all over again so everyone involved in making that day epic has one chance at getting it right. It’s the most rewarding job in the world but I would never say it’s easy.

What are some of the main questions couples ask you? And what are the answers?

Our most common questions would have to be who do we love to work with to which we love to share a bunch of our fave folks whether it be celebrants, florists, stylists, photographers and the list goes on.

Another super common question is definitely aisle song recommendations. We never like to throw out the most popular tune to hit the radio or Spotify here. We’ll ask what artists they enjoy listening to and start there in order to get a handful of possible songs/artists for them to consider.

Can you describe what sets your business apart…

A big part is the music and creating just the right tone on your wedding day, but it’s so much more than just that! Like we mentioned before, we love getting to know those that book Tillee Music. It makes the day feel less staged and more personal.
