La Pera Estate

La Pera Estate is an all in one wedding venue with our wedding chapel, reception centre and our three cottages for accommodation. Our venue is situated on a 27 acre private estate with amazing, one of a kind views across the Watagans and Brokenback Mountain Ranges. When booked by couples getting married, the property remains exclusively theirs and they’re guests on the day with no other weddings taking place, providing a private and intimate experience for each couple. The reception has an in-house exclusive caterer with menu tastings held twice a year for our couples to partake in. We feel our packages and the hire of the chapel and property is great value and we have remained competitive with price compared to other venues in the Hunter Valley area. Our property is located in the heart of wine country in picturesque Lovedale.

The Chapel was newly constructed at the end of 2004, built by hand by Bob (property owner who lives on site). The reception was constructed in 2014 and just recently renovated to fit with our estates rebranding as La Pera. With new lighting, air-conditioning, triple glazed large window doors, skylights, a new painted look both inside and outside the reception and a large wrap around deck on which your guests can enjoy drinks and Canapés, overlooking our picturesque estate views. The reception centre provides panoramic views across the Hunter Valley vineyard area from every seat through large glass doors, which lead out onto the deck.

The previous owner (Bob) purchased the property and started it’s development 21 years ago, building three cedar cottages. Then 17 years ago in 2002 started on the construction of the Chapel, in which took him 52 weekends to complete. The Chapel since has had some 800 couples have their ceremonies in the Chapel and on the property (outside ceremonies) among the vines etc.

Due to requests for receptions from couples who loved the property and it’s beautiful outlook, Bob commissioned builders to build the reception venue, which commenced in 2013 and opened it’s doors in July 2014.

The Reception Centre is coming up to hosting nearly 200 receptions and in April 2019 won the Brides Choice Award for Newcastle & the Hunter Valley for the best Chapel & Outdoor Ceremony category, plus the best Reception Venue category, and out of 343 wedding related businesses we won the award being Best of the Best! Knowing these awards were voted by past & present couples of our venue, we were beyond proud and humbled to accept our awards.
