Tempo Events & Hire is a wedding hire company specialising in premium sailcloth marquees and thoughtfully curated event essentials. We work with couples who want more than a party hire shop to drop stuff off, we design the space with you, supply the equipment and work with your vendors so your wedding experience is in sync with your personality.

We aren't your typical hire shop. When you partner with us for your special day. We will move with you on your planning journey - here's how:

  • What sizes do the Sailcloth Marques come in?
  • Our Sailcloth Marquees are available in four sizes ranging from 10x10 to 10x28 to suit intimate to large weddings.
  • Can the sides of the Sailcloth Marquee be opened or closed?
  • Yes, the Sailcloth Marquees come with sidewalls that can either be installed or left off, depending on your preference. You can decide closer to the event date once you have a clearer idea of the weather. The best part? There’s no extra charge for adding walls, so you have full flexibility!
  • What about lighting inside Sailcloth Marquees?
  • We provide complimentary lighting inside the marquee. It's dimmable too, so you can set the mood.
  • What size Sailcloth Marquee do we need?

  • Do you have packages that include furntiure and accessories?
  • Yes, we think we've got the right mix of packages to suit different needs. They range from Sailcloth Marquees with lighting only to complete packages with Sailcloth Marquees, furniture, hanging decor, coolrooms, bars, toilets (the works!)
  • Hang on, what is a Sailcloth Marquee?
  • A Sailcloth Marquee is a premium style of event tent made with light, natural-looking fabric and timber poles. Unlike standard marquees, they have a softer, more elegant feel and look incredible in natural settings like paddocks, vineyards or private properties.
  • Can you help if I don’t have a venue yet?
  • Yes, we live and work in the north east region and know some amazing private properties and lesser-known venues that suit outdoor weddings beautifully. We’re happy to point you in the right direction.
  • What's your booking process?
  • Once you enquire, we’ll reply by email and send you a quick form (takes 2 minutes) to learn more about your wedding. From there, we’ll set up a call or Zoom to talk through ideas. After the chat, we’ll follow up with a tailored plan and pricing. We’re a bit more hands-on than a typical party hire shop – we spend time with you to plan and design your wedding space.

More about the vendor team

Hi, I’m Lachie, founder of Tempo Events & Hire and a long-time local of the Alpine region. After more than a decade working in large-scale events like the Australian Open and music festivals across the country, I saw how much pressure falls on couples planning weddings without the right support. With Tempo, I’ve taken everything I learned from high-stakes event production such as timelines, site logistics, personality, flow and guest experience, and applied it to outdoor weddings.

I run Tempo with my wife Sera, who has a background in travel and logistics, and my sister Brianna, our in-house designer. She’s a qualified draftsperson with an eye for layout, flow and aesthetics, and designs every marquee floorplan with intention and care.

We’re not just a hire company. We’re planners, problem-solvers and locals who care deeply about how your day feels and functions. If something’s not going to work, we’ll tell you. And if there’s a better way to do it, we’ll make it happen.
