About This Venue
The former Esk Courthouse and Police Station was built in 1905 and has now been tastefully transformed into a delightful chapel. Much of the original charm has been maintained with ‘the dock’ and ‘witness stand’ still taking pride of place.
The chapel is equipped with antique pews and cushions, but also has the modern touches of AV equipment and air conditioning. The chapel is fully wheelchair accessible with the two-cell jail block housing the amenities. The grounds offer the perfect place for guests to mingle before and after the service. There are eight car parks on-site and plenty of street parking available.
The Courthouse is conveniently positioned within the Esk township adjoining Pipeliner Park and the former Esk Railway Station. The old wooden railway camp wagon is perfect for photos.
Esk is an ideal central location and is an easy 1.5 hour drive from the Sunshine and Gold Coasts, an hour from Brisbane and Toowoomba, and within 30 minutes from Somerset and Wivenhoe Dams.
