The single most important thing that underpins any wedding or event here at Taradale House Estate is the fact that if you choose to hire all the cottages and grounds, the entire venue becomes yours for the duration of your stay.
Quite unlike many other venues, when we talk about ‘exclusive use’, we actually mean it. Our incredible team will strive to ensure that your wedding day is every bit as fabulous as you envisage it. From the moment your guests arrive via the sweeping driveway, they will receive a warm and friendly welcome and will be encouraged to make themselves at home.
Taradale House Estate can provide a most spectacular marquee for your reception. Custom made especially for us in NZ – it attaches to the side of our Cape Cod style Tennis Pavillion. This marquee is not the standard style you rent from a party supply company due to its 3m high walls, French windows and translucent canvas. Your guests will never feel squashed and at night it glows across the land. The Tennis Pavilion then acts as a stage for your favourite entertainment.
Within the grounds of Taradale House Estate there are several beautiful areas for your ceremony and is suitable for both large and lavish celebrations or smaller, more intimate gatherings. Taradale House Estate is elegant, but unpretentious.
Following your celebrations, guests can enjoy the comfort of our Cottages, or book them all for your private use. You can expect nothing less than the highest standards of customer care and personal attention throughout your stay.
We also work with several local catering companies giving you options of price and style of event, from formal plated to spit roast bbq. Our list of other helpful locals including florists, hair and make up and celebrants who can assist to create an event that is uniquely yours.

Owner / Manager
Andrew spent many years as a professional musician before retiring and purchasing Taradale House Estate back in 2009. After 8 years of hard work restoring the original 1870’s homestead and building new cottages and facilities, it is now a lovely boutique retreat/ vineyard. Back in the 90’s, Taradale House was featured in Country Garden Magazine and more recently in the Castlemaine festival of Gardens. Some venues can host a nice reception, some can provide accommodation, but very few have both and a stunning garden to match. There are so many advantages of hosting your wedding at Taradale House to be discovered, whether it be photos in our walled rose garden or canapés under the Elm trees. Andrew is always thrilled to be part of your special day.
