About This Venue

Nestled deep within the age-old eucalyptus trees of Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, Tanglewood Estate is a gorgeous secret garden, set on more than 100 acres of bushland situated within the scenic landscape of Merricks North. The property looks out over the stunning Port Phillip Bay, with magical views of the sea.

Surrounded by beautiful flora and fauna native to the area, 6 acres of grape vines, an exquisite country-style garden, a heart-shaped dam with a timber deck and jetty for photography, Tanglewood Estate is the perfect picturesque hideaway to hold wedding ceremonies, special anniversaries or milestone celebrations. Our charming accommodation and facilities are purpose-built enabling you to host your whole event on the property, ensuring your festivities do not have to leave the property or move on for the entirety of your special day.

We are able to tailor the perfect experience and backdrop for your wedding day. Allowing you exclusive use of the property means the only people you have to share your day with are your own special guests. With a rustic barn, winery, studio and chapel, there are plenty of options to create the perfect experience for your next cherished memory.

Tanglewood Estate’s newly renovated and refurbished architecture boasts a stylish and modern take on traditional country aesthetic, built of natural woods and rustic sheet metals. The finest attention to detail and care has been taken in the exterior and interior design of the property, to ensure the presence of it’s classic Australiana feel is preserved and continues to live on for many years to come.

Owner / Manager

We are a close knit family of 7 (8 if you include Archie our border collie!) We have 5 children, all of whom help out at Tanglewood in some way. We love taking family holidays to beautiful parts of the world, Africa & Iceland are our favourites! We are passionate about sustainability, creativity and great food and wine.

We nearly bought Tanglewood over 10 years ago but it fell through, fate landed us back here when we were looking for our own sons wedding venue a few years ago. We noticed it was up for sale again and the rest is history. We’ve spent the last 2 years renovating, relocating and building on the property to turn it into one of the most unique wedding and event venues on the Mornington Peninsula.

The property itself has a very special feel, people tend to visit us and feel instantly relaxed when they step out of their car. We feel incredibly blessed that we get to spend so much time here out in nature and that we can share this beautiful place with so many others.
