About This Venue

Paperbark Camp is one of Australia’s original luxury camping destinations, located near the white sand beaches and pristine coastal landscapes of Jervis Bay, NSW.

Primarily a romantic weekend escape for relaxing and getting back to nature, over the years the camp has also played host to some wonderful bush weddings. Situated amongst soaring gumtrees and paperbarks on the edge of a tranquil waterway near Huskisson, the camp provides a peaceful bush setting for those who dream of a private and intimate setting to exchange their vows in front of their loved ones.

Long renown for its contemporary menus and fresh local produce, the Gunyah treetop dining room provides the perfect all-weather venue for celebrating with friends and family followed by dancing under the stars.

With on-site accommodation for up to 40 guests and seating for up to 100, Paperbark Camp is a wonderful choice for those looking for a unique venue within easy reach of Sydney and Canberra.

Owner / Manager

Paperbark Camp was dreamt up over twenty years ago by Irena & Jeremy Hutchings as they lay under starry skies in Africa and thought the lovely canvas tents they were staying in would be just as great in the Aussie bush.

It took years of planning but eventually in 1998 the camp welcomed its first guests. Twenty years later and the camp continues to be owned by the Hutchings family, though these days supported by a wonderful team of staff including General Manager Hamish Smith and Assistant Manager Nadine Holmes who love nothing more than a great big happy bush wedding!
