About This Venue

In a region renowned for producing some of the country’s most celebrated wines, a hidden gem lies in waiting…

Conveniently located at the gateway to the Heathcote Wine Region, Mimosa Glen Homestead, Cottage and Woolshed is a jewel in the heart of Victoria’s quaint, unassuming little town of Tooborac.

Mimosa Glen is a sustainable wedding venue that is carbon neutral. Sue and her team undertake eco-friendly practises in the management of the venue.

The WOOLSHED at Mimosa Glen offers the perfect all weather reception venue for your special day, whether you choose the cooler seasons and opt for the cosy log fire and an intimate indoor experience; or prefer the warmer months and an extravagant soiree complete with marquees, dance floor and all of your family of friends.

The fully renovated Woolshed offers a spacious, open plan function room, with huge sliding glass doors that open out onto the newly built timber deck. The large, glass windows give way to spectacular views of Tooborac’s ancient granite boulders, the tranquil McIvor creek and surrounding bushland.

You can choose to hold your ceremony overlooking the tranquil McIvor creek, on the property’s renowned wedding rock, or in the beautiful country garden. After your ceremony, wander the property and have your photographer capture gorgeous, scenic, country images then stroll across the lush green lawns, to the Woolshed for your reception.

Mimosa Glen Woolshed is available for both weekend or weekday weddings, as well as private functions, corporate events, retreats and workshops – the options are endless at Mimosa Glen.

Mimosa Glen’s comfortable and truly unique accommodation is the perfect place to wind down after your big day.

Built in the late 1800s, the classic Victorian period homestead has been lovingly restored by owner/operators Sue and David Anderson and features three king size bedrooms, luxurious living spaces complete with log fire, outdoor dining and a gorgeous, fully equipped country style kitchen.

Also located onsite is the cosy Mimosa Glen Cottage, which sleeps a further four people, in two king rooms, both with private ensuites; making this property not only the perfect wedding venue, but also the perfect location for accommodating your entire bridal party.

Mimosa Glen is located just under 1.5 hours from Melbourne and is wonderfully close to several popular tourist destinations including the Strathbogie Shire, the Macedon Ranges, the Goldfields region and the Goulburn Valley.

Wedding packages at Mimosa Glen include accomodation for 10 people for 2 nights on the weekend of your wedding, as well as 1 night of complimentary accomodation in the cottage (prior to your wedding day), allowing for a fully immersive pre-wedding planning weekend.

The options really are endless at Mimosa Glen… See our website for latest details on our Wedding Packages.

Owner / Manager

Mimosa Glen’s venue owner, Sue Anderson is a proud fifth generation farmer, who along with husband David, now run their own grass-fed livestock operation, with over 100 head combined of Black Angus and Hereford cattle.

In 2006, Sue and David became the owners of Mimosa Glen and it’s their connection and understanding of the land that will make your stay at Mimosa Glen, a truly rewarding experience. Sue’s family are 5th Generation farmers that have made a living off the land. While still managing their own farm businesses, Sue and family take care of Mimosa Glen and open it for weekend Weddings, small intimate Weddings and accommodation.

Sue is a keen gardener and has a deep respect and passion for maintaining a sustainable wedding venue. Her most recent change at Mimosa Glen is adding Solar Panels to the Homestead. “Transitioning to solar energy has been a long anticipated, exciting change because we are now carbon neutral.” says Sue.

You will receive a warm open-hearted greeting that only a local can provide, when you arrive at Mimosa Glen. This is because Sue loves to meet and greet her guests. She often shares her stories of the property, country life and the restorations they’ve made to the early 1880’s Homestead and surrounding gardens.

Their restorations have preserved many of the original features of the Homestead including the original floors in the bathroom and the claw foot bathtub. “The original craftsmanship was beautiful and worth retaining,” Sue explained. You will get a taste of days-gone-by with spacious Victorian style lounge with open wood fireplace. Classic country-style surrounding timber verandas and all of the creature comforts of clean and comfortable living spaces.
