About This Venue

Resting within the rugged serenity of the Strathbogie Ranges, on 4500 acres of private property, sits the beautiful, historic building known as Killeen Stables. Set amidst a working sheep station and rolling vineyards, this unique venue offers unrivalled country atmosphere with incredible charm and rustic elegance.

The homestead was originally a squatters run, dating back to 1838, just after Melbourne was established as a city in 1835.

Today, the homestead, Killeen Stables and surrounding gardens and buildings, are listed by Heritage Victoria, and amongst the features of interest are what is believed to be the oldest Wisteria in Australia, planted around 1881, and a gorgeous red brick stables and barn built in 1872 in the Cape Dutch style.

Just 90 minutes from Melbourne, Killeen Stables retains the romance of all its original period features and regularly hosts weddings, functions and a range of imaginative food and wine events.

Private and exclusive, this an extraordinary space is the perfect way to transform your wedding into a truly memorable day.
