About This Venue

Clover Cottage was built in 1875 and is a special place where we chose to come as newlyweds and bring up our family. Over the past 30 years we have restored and transformed the historical property to be a place where guests come to fish in our lakes, canoe along on our river front, play tennis on our grass court and enjoy the tranquillity and theatre of the forest and farm life.

Paul has farmed trout for over 30 years as well as restored, created, built Clover Cottage to what it is now. The cottage garden has a waterfall which doubles as a recirculation system for the lakes, which makes a special setting for a garden ceremony. The amphitheatre of the riverside or the intimacy of the deck over river also offer choice for a special wedding ceremony.

The marquee site overlooks the lakes and forest river valley. There is power to the site and easy access for services. We also have backup power on the property in the case of power failure.

Our friendly farm animals add character to the setting; particularly Edith the donkey who has featured in several weddings as the ‘other’ bridesmaid!

Owner / Manager

We have lived at Clover Cottage since 1983 when we arrived as newlyweds with stars in our eyes to somewhere which offered so much potential to us as a place to bring to bring up children and grow old together!! It is an ongoing journey which neither of us have tired from. Paul has restored, built, created and farmed with passion and dedication. His stone walls and buildings have all nestled into the environment and complement the history of the place. He has even built a treehouse studio where Petrina can paint and spent time hidden away. Both enjoy gardening and ‘farming’ over the past 20 years many of our guests have become regular visitors and we enjoy sharing the changes and developments with them. Our family has grown up and flown the coop, but they are regular visitors back to the farm and help out when needed.

We love the country community and the surrounding attractions. The beach is only ‘down the road’ and the national parks are everywhere.

This area is also known as the ‘food bowl’ as much of the state’s agriculture and horticulture is here. There are festivals to celebrate such as Cherry Festival and Truffle Kerfuffle.
