Stress-free weddings. Not a myth. That’s what Old Broadwater Farm – a unique WA wedding venue – is renowned for.
It’s mostly due to the fact that everything you need is on-site: gorgeous ceremony locations, wet weather reception options, manicured lawns, cool rooms, furniture, gas heaters, lawn games, crockery (you get the gist).
Nothing here is a non-negotiable (you can be whisked away in a helicopter if you like) and with three in-house wedding planners, nothing falls through the cracks. Read on and discover what else sets this unique WA wedding venue apart…
Tell us a bit about your venue…
Old Broadwater Farm is one of the most tranquil and beautiful wedding locations in the South West of WA. Set within five acres of manicured lawns and tall trees, the cottage garden setting is abundant with English roses and lavender. The old limestone homestead and rustic farm touches provide endless inspiration for your wedding photographer.
Our reception options suit everyone with outside dining under the stars on our deck or in our luxury marquee, with its soft silk-lined ceiling and rustic feature lighting. The custom designed marquee can accommodate a range of reception settings and wedding guest numbers, with a prominent dance floor.
What inspired you to get involved with weddings?
Old Broadwater Farm began hosting concerts (John Butler Trio, Xavier Rudd, The Cat Empire to name a few) and the occasional family wedding. Approximately four years ago, the demand for weddings continued to boom and we are now hosting between 70 and 80 weddings per year with a team of three wedding planners.
Tell us about the facilities your venue offers?
Our packages are designed to include almost everything couples need for their wedding day, from tables, chairs, cutlery and crockery, through to a cool room and gas heaters. We also have a collection of furniture and lawn games that our couples are free to use – they just need to choose their suppliers and add personal touches. Our luxury, state-of-the-art marquee allows guests to get married year round and can be transformed to suit a variety of styles.
What do you think is the biggest selling point for most couples?
Our grounds have endless options for your ceremony, pre reception and reception and our couples love the fact that the can customise their day to be unique to them. We invest a lot of time into our grounds and always ensure that the venue is looking immaculate. Our packages, as well as the venues facilities, allow guests to have a stress-free wedding.
Do you offer onsite accommodation? Alternatively are there places to stay nearby?
Our onsite accommodation consists of two cottages which keep in with the heritage theme and complement the original homestead perfectly. The loft sleeps five guests and is perfect for pre-wedding preparations. The cottage sleeps four guests. Being so close to the Busselton town centre, there are endless accommodation options for your guests.
What’s your favourite thing you’ve seen a couple do at your venue?
Last season we had a lovely couple organise a helicopter to whisk them away for sunset snaps by the ocean. They were picked up in our paddock and it was such an amazing experience for them and us! We have several more helicopters coming this season and it is such a fabulous alternative to a bridal car (and often a similar price)!
And what do you think would be epic at your property? Any ideas you’d love to see a couple carry out?
We would love to see our marquee transformed with an epic floral installation.
Describe the kind of couples your venue generally attracts.
We attract such a variety of couples it is hard to pinpoint a certain type. Our venue is so versatile and our marquee can be made to look both rustic and modern. All of our couples are carefree, happy and amazing to work with!
Any new additions on the horizon?
We are planning an undercover ceremony spot to complement the homestead.
