Things to make you go ‘I do’.

VENUE FEATURE: Mayfield

nsw garden wedding venue

Spanning more than 160 acres, Mayfield is one of the largest cool climate gardens in the world. And now it’s adding ‘unique garden wedding venue’ to its list of conquests. Brides and grooms-to-be, prepare to have your minds blown.

Can you tell us a bit about your venue?

Mayfield, near Oberon NSW is one of the world’s largest privately owned cool climate gardens. Mayfield extends across more than 160 acres and sits within a 5,000 acre working farm. Inspired by our farm and the grandeur of English country garden estates, our meticulously crafted Garden Centre, stunning Water Garden and breathtaking obelisk all provide an unrivalled backdrop for any wedding. Mayfield is also very affordable for couples too.

What inspired you to get involved with weddings?

We were always asked if our 160-acre garden hosted weddings, to which we regretfully said no. We eventually hosted out first wedding in September 2017 and it’s been a success ever since.

Tell us about the facilities your venue offers.

We classify ourselves as a destination wedding venue – everything is under the one roof. We have two options for our ceremonies and receptions: The Nursery Gallery and the Obelisk and Pond. For every wedding, we provide a range of food and beverage packages including a ‘communal feast’ which allows guests to enjoy a variety of dishes served.

What do you think is the main selling point for most couples?

We believe that the garden and the stunning photo locations are what people really fall in love with. From here, we offer the whole package; ceremony, reception, food and beverage. It’s all in-house so we manage everything and work with the couple to create an easy and enjoyable day for their guests.

Do you offer onsite accommodation? Alternatively, are there places to stay nearby?

We have our Mayfield Guesthouse to be used for our bridal party, which has been designed to the same quality as the world-famous garden, with a mix of modern and antique finishes. Accommodating up to 10 guests in complete comfort, Mayfield Guesthouse offers a fully equipped gourmet kitchen, stylish living area with an open wrap around verandah furnished with relaxed outdoor seating overlooking its own private garden, pond and picnic area. For other guests, we have preferred accommodation providers who offer wedding discounts.

What’s your favourite thing you’ve seen a couple do at your venue?

Enjoy the day! Everything is looked after and they don’t have to worry about a thing! People often rave about the food as well.

And what do you think would be epic at your property? Any ideas you’d love to see a couple carry out?

We would love to see a garden wedding carried out… why not organise a helicopter ride to arrive in! We’re quirky and love unique ideas and want people to understand our flexibility! We love the concepts created by brides and grooms.

Any new additions on the horizon?

Nothing yet but we want to focus on weddings for the future!

  1. Hi,
Can you please send me through some information on holding a wedding at this property? Our vision for the wedding is something like:

    – a NYE 2019 wedding, Dec 31 2018 – would you have availability?

    – host a recovery lunch the following day

    – probably look to hire the venue for 4 days, so possibly from Dec 30 – Jan 2

    – around 100-130 people

    – outdoor wedding filled with fairy lights, or an open marquee with lots of greenery and lights

Any information at this stage will be greatly appreciated

    Thanks,
    Cate
