Heidi Phillpot from Quill creates incredible, unique and one of a kind boutique wedding stationery and signage with a love for everything handmade.

From hand-painted florals, custom illustrations and hand lettering, her work covers everything from save the dates to thank you cards, welcome signs to place cards and everything in between to suit your wedding style and mood. She’s based in country NSW but ships worldwide.

Hey Heidi, tell us a bit about your business and what you do!

At Quill we create beautifully hand-crafted wedding stationery and signage. We specialise in hand-crafted illustration and lettering, you’ll find a little snippet in each and every design!

Awesome, what is the main advantage for couples who work with you?

Each of our designs are unique to our couples, we understand that everyone is different and has a different story to tell and what better way than introducing yourselves as a married couple then your own personalised stationery!

Can you share some of the things that go on behind the scenes?

Each stationery design starts with rough concept sketches and mood boards before jumping right in and painting, drawing or writing your handmade elements. These elements are then digitised and combined with the perfect font pairings and layout to really showcase your relationship. Once the design is finalised, it’s sent to print to really come to life! Our signage is all hand-crafted, from the markups for the layout to the lettering, each design is drawn and written to perfection.

What are some of the main questions couples ask you? And what are the answers?

Can we still work with you if we’re not in Wagga? Absolutely! Wagga is a relatively small town and we love working with couples from around the country and the world. If postage isn’t a realistic option to your area or for your product, we’ll work with you to decide on the best transport option for your pieces.

Can you describe what sets your business apart?

Perfectionism! Every little detail is examined and designed to perfection. If we’re not happy with something, we’ll keep chipping away until it’s exactly how it needs to be. This applies right throughout the design process, even our hand-crafted elements. Often we’ll paint 5 or 6 flowers just to get that perfect one.

And finally, what the best piece of advice you can share with anyone planning their wedding?

Start early. There’s so much to do in organising a wedding, start as early as you can and relieve some of the stress. Stationery and signage are especially things that can be started well before anything else. As soon as you know your wedding vibe, we can work on something amazing together!
