Lana and Will found The Burrow on WedShed, a VIC wedding venue that hosts a barn with cathedral ceilings, exposed hardwood trusses and a working stone fireplace, perfect for summer and winter weddings. Her advice? Don’t get hung up on the finer details, turns out none of that actually matters on the day (like the carefully selected cushions for the couch).

Bridal party at vic wedding venue

In a nutshell, how would you describe your wedding day?

Better than we could imagine, it was the perfect day!

What did you expect was going to be your favourite part in the lead-up? What did it end up being?

We thought the dancing and party was going to be our favourite part of the day (it was better than imagined).

Did you write your own vows? If so, what made you decide to do that?

We did write our own vows. We wanted to personalise the ceremony as much as possible and keep it light-hearted.

If you had your time again, is there anything you’d do differently?

I would forget about trying to plan and make any decisions myself because it turns out my husband is a self-proclaimed event planner in the making and likes to control the planning and decisions.

Finish these sentences. My partner is…

Incredible!

The best thing we did at our wedding was…

We escaped the reception at sunset to take photos in a nearby paddock, we climbed the fence and started wandering around only to get busted trespassing by the owner of the property, it was worth it as these were our favourite photos.

We splurged on…

Our neon sign, worth every cent.

We saved on…

Transport. My mum and I were driven to the ceremony in my late dads Nissan patrol. It was very special.
