Dreaming of a beautiful farm wedding like Jodi and Tristan were? Well, meet The Farm House, a QLD wedding venue that’s got plenty of charm, where guests are welcome to camp and make it a long weekend of celebrations to remember.

Check out their day below, captured by Lightsmith Images.

In a nutshell, how would you describe your wedding day?

A casual, fun and emotional day with our nearest and dearest.

Did you write your own vows? If so, what made you decide to do that?

We did! We wanted them to be unique and sincere.

What was it about The Farm House that made you choose it?

We wanted a DIY wedding with no curfew or early check out the next day. With The Farm House, we were able to stay at the venue Friday to Monday which meant plenty of time to set up and pack up. The privacy was also a key selling point.

Now that you’re married, what’s your best piece of wedding-planning advice you can share?

All those little or even big decisions you may be stressing over or arguing about… don’t matter. We stressed over a few things as the wedding approached and then had rain from start to finish of our outdoor wedding and yet nobody cared. Our guests were all just there to celebrate the fact I managed to trick a girl into marrying me. They weren’t bothered by what colour the flowers were, how we decorated the tables or who sat where. They just wanted to be there for us which was really touching and a great feeling. Our mates even risked their fancy suits when a taxi got bogged and need to be pushed out. Absolute legends.

If you had your time again, is there anything you’d do differently?

Elope… Joking. Not a thing!

Finish these sentences: My partner is…

Funny.

The best thing we did at our wedding was…

Fireball Shots.

We splurged on…

Food and alcohol. Best decision we made.

We saved on…

Flowers, invitations and venue staff.
